NMWTRA
The North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agent (NMWTRA) caters for the management, maintenance and improvement of all strategic routes via the Welsh Government. Vision Illumination received award of 2 stages of the trunk road network.
Vision Illumination is proud to have been awarded a significant project with the North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agent (NMWTRA), an organisation responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the major road networks in North and Mid Wales. Working closely with the Welsh Government, NMWTRA oversees the strategic routes vital for transportation and infrastructure in the region. Our project with NMWTRA reflects Vision Illumination’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable lighting solutions that align with public needs and regional development goals.

This award included two key stages of the trunk road network, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities for us to demonstrate our capabilities. As part of the first stage, we conducted thorough site assessments across the designated routes, focusing on understanding the specific lighting requirements and any environmental or logistical considerations involved. The trunk roads in this region are essential connectors for communities, tourism, and commerce, making it crucial for us to ensure that our solutions would enhance visibility, safety, and energy efficiency.

In the second stage, Vision Illumination designed and installed tailored lighting solutions, selecting products that would provide optimal performance while withstanding the varied weather conditions typical in North and Mid Wales. We prioritised energy efficiency and durability, delivering lighting systems capable of reducing long-term maintenance needs and associated costs for NMWTRA and the Welsh Government. Our advanced LED technology not only improves visibility on these strategic routes but also aligns with sustainability goals, minimising light pollution and energy consumption.

This project also involved close collaboration with NMWTRA, local stakeholders, and other contractors to ensure seamless installation and operation. We took into account the impact of lighting on surrounding environments, adjusting our designs to blend into the scenic landscapes of North and Mid Wales without compromising functionality. Working on these trunk roads required adaptability and precision to keep traffic moving smoothly while installations were underway, and we’re proud of the teamwork and efficiency demonstrated throughout the process.
